Sample Chapter: One For All, And All For One

As most of you know, I’ve been working on a Historical Fiction/Romance novel titled ‘One For All, And All For One’. It centers around Louis XIV/France. This is the next book that I’m striving to release once it’s ready.

Well, I finally finished editing the first chapter and wanted to share it with you all. I hope you all enjoy what I’ve written.

I’d love to know what you all think of this new story.

 

Within The Bastille

 

 

Pushing the man into the small cell, the guard kicked the door shut behind him with the flick of his wrist and walked away without a backward glance. Howling with rage, Louis turned around and ran towards the closed door, ramming his shoulder against it.

“Let me out of here!” he cried. “You have no right to keep me here. I am the King, I tell you!”

The warden chortled, his maniacal laughter ringing throughout the dungeon. “Do ye hear that, boys? He proclaims himself to be the King!”

His brown eyes blazed with fury as he curled his hands into tight fists and banged them against the thick wood. “You have imprisoned the wrong man. I am the King! The man on the throne is an imposter.” Continue reading

Review By All Things Books

All Things Books has graciously posted up a review of Closure. Many thank you’s for the review. I appreciate it very much!

Closure by Lissette Manning is a short story about a man who goes through a serious life change. I thought that the storyline was a good one, however I would have liked Closure a bit more had the author developed the characters a little more. Despite that, I did very much enjoy reading Closure and I think anyone else who reads it will enjoy it, as well.

We All Have Our Seasons

It’s been said that friendship is forever. We meet people everywhere we go, drifting through life and befriending those that we come across. Most friendships forged are able to stand the test of time, while some are only meant to be fleeting.

Those that we consider friends are meant to be in your life. They’re the ones that stick by you no matter what happens – be it good or bad. They’ll argue with you when they don’t agree on whatever random topic you’re discussing and might walk away in a bit of a huff, but let’s face it – at the end of the day, you’re back to being friends and ready to tackle the next storm that comes your way.

Others saunter on through, never looking back at you once they’re done getting whatever they need out of you. These are the ones that achieve only the role of a passer-by, leaving a small imprint behind that you’ll think about randomly. These are the ones that were never meant to be. Continue reading
